Greetings!

Not many classes this month but a lot going on getting ready for our biggest event of the year Beadapalooza 2013!!We will have goodie swag bags for the first 50 paying customers on Saturday Aug. 24th.
($15.00 purchase required)  
The bags will be even better than last year.  Last year the first customer showed up around 7 am to be sure she got hers.  By the time we opened at 10 we had over 50 people waiting in line.Devyani Tribal Belly dancers  of Birmingham will be kicking off Saturday Morning at 9:30  so be sure to come early to check them out! This is the second year for them to preform for us.  They really set the mood for shopping.

Torch Play with Michael JohnsonAug. 10th 12-3pmtorch play

Technique Class -Learning how to solder

Torch Play is an introduction to using a torch in metalworking.  We will learn to anneal, fuse, and solder; the three essentials to working with metals.  All supplies for the class are provided, and all you will need is an open mind, ready to learn.  You can purchase everything you need to go home and start practicing and incorporating these new skills at home. $45 class fee and learn beginning forging techniques with metalsmith Michael Johnson.

 Rocking with Bezels is an intermediate level torch class, where we will learn to make a bezel for a cabochon and set the stone.  This class requires some prior experience with using a torch, but is taught with the beginner in mind.  All supplies for the class are provided, and all you will need is an open mind, ready to learn.  You can purchase everything you need to go home and start practicing and incorporating these new skills at home. $50 class fee includes supplies

For those who love making 3 dimensional beaded beads….this beaded ring will impress all your friends and family.  Make more beads and turn them into a necklace or bracelet.  The possibilities are endless.

Not a beginners class….some knowledge of beading will be helpful.  It’s a great way to use up all your leftovers….and pair it with another project you finished

 

Shop before hand for supplies.  Supply list is available at the shop.  Or arrive 30 minute early if you need to pick out your beads   Some kits will be available. 
Classes are not designed to complete projects.  You will learn the bead weaving technique to make your components and learn how to connect them together.  The remainder of your creation is to be enjoyed as a beading project at home.

Class fee $30.00 plus supplies.  Kits will be available

Beadology 101
Beginning Bead Stringing with Lisa

In this perfect beginner beading class, students will learn the basics of stringing and design, including review of raw materials and proper use & application of tools.  Your necklace design  will be completed and able to be worn home by end of class. Please plan on arriving early to pick out your supplies and to purchase any materials you may need.Class fee is $25.00 plus supplies. 
Students will receive 20% off all supplies day of the class.

Etching and Embossing with Vintaj Metals and using the Vintaj “Big Kick” Machine.Aug. 15th 6:30- 8:30pm
Aug. 20th 11-1pm

Learn how to use the Bead Biz new Vintaj “Big Kick” machine. We have all the embossing and etching plates for you to use.   You can use our paints too for the class.


Class fee is $20.00.  you must buy Vintaj pieces for the class to use.  Paints will be sold for use at home after class.

After having the class you may come and use the Stores machine and plates to emboss and etch your Vintaj pieces.

Beginning Wire Works 101 with Judi
(great class for the newbie beader)

All created with about 4″ of WIRE!

You will make 3 different sets of earrings and learn to make your own ear wires.  Learn to make a clasp or two and Headpins.  Also learn how to make the perfect loop and wire-wrap basic beads.

Craft wire is included in the class just need some beads for your earrings or to wrap.  Stop by and look at the examples and we can give you a handout.  Bring your wire working tools or Lora will have some for purchase.
This class fee is $25.00 .

This one is a good one and it is filling up fast!!

 Metal Letter Stamping and Rivets with Roxie

Learn this popular technique of stamping words on metal discs.  Also learn how to rivet pieces together using a hammer. Take your pieces home and create a one of a kind necklace or bracelet. Or let your imagination run wild.

This class fee is $30.00. Free Use of Hammers and Letter stamps for the class

Begining Wire Ring class with JudiAug. 17th 2-5pmBeginner Wire working some experience needed

Learn to make up to 3 stylish  wire wrapped rings and use a ring mandrel to size them.  20g wire included in class all you need is a few beads.

This Class has a minimum of 2 students and a maximum for 4 students. So sign up early this is expected to be a very popular class.

Project-based class –
students will learn to plan the layout, use a saw to cut out the design, forge, fabricate, and set the stone cabochon their own copper pendant. You will create a flower pendant without soldering, set with a unique cabochon.

Class fee is $100.00 includes supplies.

 Tatting 101

Tatting Fundamentals:Learn the art of tatting. This class is the first step in the process and is a requirement for Tatting with Bead Embellishments. You will learn to make and rings. You will also learn to make chains using the ball and shuttle technique. We will be making notecards as your project. You will also learn how to read the various styles of tatting patterns. Tatting shuttle and thread are included.
This class fee is $30.00.
